Better Self Psychology - Strategic Not-for-Profit Healthcare Acquisition

Background:

Better Self Psychology was an established Adelaide-based psychology practice operating across two locations. The business had built a strong local presence and reputation for quality mental health services in the South Australian market. The owner recognised the opportunity to transition the practice to an organisation that could sustain and expand its community impact.

Engagement & Process:

Engaged by the owner as broker to identify and secure the ideal acquirer for the practice. Through careful analysis of potential buyers, we identified Lutheran Care – a respected not-for-profit healthcare organisation – as the optimal fit. We demonstrated the strong operational and mission-driven synergies that Better Self Psychology would bring to Lutheran Care’s existing service portfolio.

Result:

Successfully negotiated and completed the sale of Better Self Psychology to Lutheran Care. The transaction allowed the practice to continue serving the Adelaide community under the stewardship of a values-aligned, not-for-profit organisation with the resources to enhance service delivery. Lutheran Care gained two well-established practices that complemented their healthcare offerings and strengthened their mental health service capabilities in South Australia.
